According to Wikipedia we currently have 7.8 billion people on this earth with the expectation of 10 billion in the future. With sewage in the streets and no food to eat humanity is crying for help. Thus, a great migration is taking place from the poorest countries to the richest. Things we take for granted like clean water, medical care, a burger at a fast-food restaurant, are unobtainable for most of the world’s population. The 21st century comes with a great movement by the poor, the wretched, the undesirable and the oppressed.
But these are a good people. Most of them would be an asset to any country they decide to live in. These are people of color. Some are black, some are brown. The travel from countries like Haiti, Mexico, Central America, South America, and Africa.
Dr. Martin Luther King said “you judge a man not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character.” 1. He was right!
Most white people are a good people only a few are bad. Most black people are a good people only a few are bad. Most Latins are a good people while only a few are bad. I could run statistics on what percentage of white, black, or brown people commit crimes and I’m sure it would be different for each group.
For this editorial, I’m going to use the number rumored by the American Motorcycle Association in 1947 which described the Hollister event. It was said that 99% of all motorcyclists are good people while only 1% are bad. 2.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as of August of 2021 they have seen 1,475,131 encounters. 3. That is more than any other year dating back to 2017 and 2021 as of this writing has 4 months left to go.
One percent of 1,475,131 is 1,495. In actuality, this number might be in the thousands if I were to accumulate all the actual statistics. However, the idea of allowing 1,495 drug dealers, rapists, murders, gang members, and human traffickers, is unacceptable. The idea that our great nation would allow immigration of what amounts to domestic terrorists into the United States is Neanderthal thinking.
There is nothing wrong with immigration. We are a nation of immigrants. Allowing mixed races of people is what makes America the greatest country on earth. It creates a melting pot of different cultures and ideas that makes our democracy work.
Letting people cross our borders without background checks is self-destructive. Like him or not Donald Trump was right when he insisted that migrants remain in their own countries to be “vetted” before crossing our borders. This policy helps ensure that we only get the best people.
